Both individuals conduct photography workshops with tips on how to work with different lighting situations and how to best capture wildlife and scenery. If any working scientists happen to be traveling with the ship, they will also conduct lectures about their research and findings.Įndurance also has a certified photo instructor and a National Geographic photographer onboard every expedition. Of course, like any work environment you will have some sort of run in with someone be it personal or professional, but if you know how to work past those types of ting, you'll be fine. From the Captain on down, everyone works to build good camaraderie and the teamwork is top-notch. It's a relatively small boat, so you will get to meet and know every crew member on the boat, and everyone is really great. Your coworkers and supervisors are all very friendly and supportive. I enjoyed a long list of experiences that I will count among the best of my life. I was able to go hiking, kayaking, or wildlife cruising in Alaska at least 3-4 days a week, for about 3 months straight. During your long break, you can do whatever activities the guests are doing provided there is room for you, and the staff and supervisors are very good about getting you as long of a break as possible and getting of the boat. While onboard, there are things to do like use the gym, relax in the crew lounge or crew deck, and most importantly get off the boat and go exploring. You will work a lot of hours, but there are good breaks each day that allow you a chance to relax. You will work a new position each week, sometimes in Dining and sometimes in Housekeeping. Realistically, as a Steward, your work days will be long and hard. ![]() When I applied, my goal was to get paid to travel and see the world and in my first season as a Steward, that was absolutely the case.
